about

This song was written by Jack Judge and Harry William in 1912 in the town of Stalybridge just down the road from Oldham. The song became an international hit and was extremely popular with the soldiers in the first world war.
When we sing this song today I always feel we are paying a tribute to those soldiers who would have sung it and gave their lives.
